Assessment of Teachers’ Competence and Interest in Online Teaching during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Nigeria

<div class="page" title="Page 1"><div class="layoutArea"><div class="column"><p><span>Despite the numerous advantages of online mode instruction in terms flexible learning methods, convenience, broader coverage and its ability to ensure that no child was ignored educationally during COVID-19 lockdown, teachers found it difficult cope with such an approach. A survey conducted on teachers' interests, competencies, awareness possible problems. The snowball sampling technique used identify 377 at all levels education Nigeria lockdown. Amongst outcomes study, revealed were fully competent teaching, thus encouraging them continue using approach after pandemic. Support from private organisations, especially provision subsidised technology devices organisation skills development programmes for education, will enhance their competency performance ‘new normal’ generation. </span></p></div></div></div>
